A blog about Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS)
The aim of the ISDS blog is to be a source of knowledge regarding the dispute resolution method Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS).
ISDS usually takes the shape of international arbitration which has a long tradition of providing a common, internationally adopted legal framework for dispute resolution.
The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce decided to start this blog to provide facts and information on ISDS.
The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) is an independent part of the Chamber and has developed into one of the world’s leading forums for dispute resolution. SCC and ICSID represent the two ISDS institutions where more than 65% of the world’s known ISDS cases have been administered.
In at least 120 of the bilateral investment treaties (BITs) known today, Sweden or the SCC is cited as the forum for resolving disputes between investors and the state.
